The 80 Day Obsession is based on timed nutrition (eating certain foods at certain times), a specific eating plan (including required supplements) and specific workouts. FWTFL focuses on intermittent fasting (eating within a certain time frame), carb cycling (strategic low-carb days during the week), focusing on whole foods (no supplements required) and specific workouts to maximize the nutrition strategies. 80 Day Obsession ends after 80 days, but the FWTFL is easily maintained for life. Many clients choose to participate in another round or the VIP group because they love the accountability, camaraderie and support. Bottom Line: 80 Day Obsession is more rigid, requires supplements, is geared toward intermediate to advanced fitness levels, and doesn’t offer accountability or support. FWTFL is more flexible, does NOT require supplements, utilizes strategies appropriate for any gender, age or fitness level, and offers daily accountability and frequent additional trainings.

Even at large doses, the effect of green tea for weight loss is minimal. For example, in a study published in the journal Clinical Nutrition in 2016, overweight women took either a daily dose of about 1,350 mg of green tea extract in supplement form (the equivalent of roughly 15 cups of green tea) or a placebo for 12 weeks. Though the green tea group dropped an average of 2.4 pounds, the women taking the placebo lost 4.4 pounds.

“A study published in Nutrition Journal found that participants who ate foods high in monounsaturated fats for lunch (in this case, half an avocado) reported a 40 percent decreased desire to eat for hours afterward. Monounsaturated fats from sources like olive oil, nuts and avocados can reduce cholesterol, promote weight loss, even boost memory.” — David Zinczenko, author of the  Zero Belly Cookbook
Like green tea, lemon and ginger can also promote fat loss, and adding them to your daily cup can enhance the natural benefits that green tea has. Simply heat water to a boil and seep green tea for a few minutes before pulling out the leaves. Squeeze in the juice from half a lemon and infuse the blend with a teaspoon of grated ginger. Let seep for fifteen minutes, and enjoy!

More than a few people comment on my daily trek at 5 am to the health club. They say they wish they could, or they just don’t have the time. I hate mornings, I don’t have time. I just do it. I look forward to it, it has become a solo rendezvous with the person who wakes up everyday in a strange new body that feels comfortable and gives me a sense of immeasurable satisfaction. She communes with the woman who nearly died under 170 pounds of dysfunctional living. They give each other mutual love and respect. I was morbidly obese not out of laziness, or lack of willpower; I was surviving in the only way I knew how.
Here’s a great example: For the same number of calories that are in a handful of peanuts (about two ounces), you can eat 2½ pounds of strawberries (about five of those green boxes that strawberries come in.) Eating “big” foods like strawberries, salads, and other fruits and vegetables can prevent hunger from taking over and taking you places you don’t want to go
Shopping tip: Skip the reduced-fat versions, which ironically tend to have more calories, sugar, sodium and preservatives than regular nut butter. Buy those that list nuts — and maybe a bit of salt — in the ingredient list, and use them as a way to eat more whole grains, fruits, and veggies. What’s not to love about an apple smeared in almond butter?

Many studies have proved that green tea with lemon increases amount of antioxidant i.e. catechins available for the body to absorb. Also, people have reported significant weight loss by drinking green tea with lemon. However, honey is high in calories. Honey with green tea is good for fighting cold and flu but there is no significant improvement in weigh loss.
Carb cycling allows for planned high carb days that increase your thyroid output and help you control hunger. Because you are cycling your carbs, you will also have low carb days that offset your high carb days. With this type of cycle you will continue to see fat loss, increased energy levels, and improvements to your overall body composition. Carb cycling improves insulin levels, helping your body to store less fat. When paired with intermittent fasting and effective workouts, carb cycling can help you break through those dreaded plateaus so you can truly look and feel your very best.
